How many hours does plaquenil work

Is it possible for it to work quicker in some people? I've heard it can take months, but I must say that I haven't felt like this since I was a kid - not achy or stiff.

Following a single 200 mg oral dose of PLAQUENIL to healthy males, the mean peak blood concentration of hydroxychloroquine was 129.6 ng/mL, reached in 3.26 hours with a half-life of 537 hours 22.4 days. In the same study, the plasma peak concentration was. 50.3 ng/mL reached in 3.74 hours with a half-life of 2963 hours 123.5 days. Urine Re Plaquenil - Can It Work Quickly? I tried to get on Plaquenil years ago, and couldn't tolerate it, but now I'm thinking there might be a lessor dose I should try. I'm new to the area, so don't have a rheumy yet. I do think you should let your rheumy know. It seems to me in Dr. Wallace's book and from other folks on this forum, that when there was trouble when first starting Plaq, they were taken off for a few days and then restarted at half the dose for awhile, building up to the full dose. It seems to work for many.

It takes anywhere from 4-6 months before the affects of Plaquenil are seen/felt. Has anyone had a similar experience with Plaquenil? - Sko Just an FYI- Plaquenil is NOT known to start working that fast.

  3. Jun 11, 2013 I am so sick of meds but I need them. Generic plaquenil does not work for me. Rips my stomach apart and leaves me with no apetite. My pharm keeps changing manufacturers and it seems like every different one has a new side effect. Before taking plaquenil I was taking Quinicrine which is a compound for 11 years.

Aug 11, 2019 If you are an active lupus flare, you will need to take prednisone and/or an NSAID to bridge the gap until Plaquenil begins to work. The normal range of time that it takes to work is between 1–3 months most people say 60 days Personally, I feel relief after about 14 days and then no additional improvements until the three month mark. Does Plaquenil actually work for you? I never actually noticed a difference when I was taking Plaquenil long-term. A few years ago, when I stuck to a super healthy diet, I actually noticed a difference in my symptoms, so I stopped taking Plaquenil.

The following adverse reactions have been identified during post-approval use of PLAQUENIL or other 4-aminoqunoline compounds. Because these reactions are reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not always possible to reliably estimate their frequency or establish a causal relationship to drug exposure.
