    Oct 11, 2017 May 2014 Deep Brain Stimulator put in for Parkinson Disease = PD. Early 2016 did a VECTRA test wow stared on Remicade after 5 years or Plaquenil, Sulfasalazine, include adding MTX. So, now I am living in a Nursing Home. I will be 64 in a few days I am able walk, sometimes with a walker for PD. God has given me a plate full but I still keep going. Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine belongs to a group of medicines called quinolines. Plaquenil is used to treat or prevent malaria, a disease caused by parasites that enter the body through the bite of a mosquito. Malaria is common in areas such as Africa, South America, and Southern Asia. Plaquenil is used to inhibit the progression of Lupus - while there are generic forms I don't know of any alternatives. Usually it is given in conjunction with another medication, like Prednisone, Cellcept, MTX, or Imuran that treats symptoms more directly.
